Nice Day - Not Much Work Getting Done!

So here's the latest this week.  Great weather today to be working - a tad hot but dry for sure!

However, we need our gas line to the property shut off so we can get the excavations going full speed ahead.  It appears the lead time for a shut off can be 4 weeks.  Ouch!  Pray that the timeline would be quick.

This impacts other things like the sewer hook-up, the water lines, and the removal of the septic system.
We also had a request from the Ministry of Labour to check the building for any potential harzardous materials like asbestos so we have to get an inspection done too.

And we need a framer for the project.  So far we have had trouble lining one up and they of course are very busy just now.

Usual stuff for construction, right? - Bu it sure would be good to see some more action...  Lift up these requests in prayer this weekend please!

Foundation Permit In Hand - Praise the Lord!

This means we should be able to start things sometime this week.  Fencing and equipment should be arriving soon.

Please remember the North Driveway will be closed so entrance to the property will only be from the south driveway.

Get Ready Set Go!  We're heading for the Promise Land!

Ground Breaking and Bank Day a Fabulous Day May 25, 2014!

The weather was gorgeous for our day outside after the morning service as we turned some sod and announced the totals in from our first Bank Day!  Photos below are some of the great banks - and sod turning photos to come.

Special thanks to those who came to help us celebrate  - Mayor Foster and Councillors Joe Neal and Mary Novak from Clarington Council.

Bank Day provided over $5600 from our Banks...  Thank the Lord and each of you and especially those who decorated their banks.  Many of which were really quite creative and special.

Here are just a sampling of the banks:

Photos are in order of the decorated banks from:
Bruce Anderson, Megan London, Jean Osborne, Dulcie McConnell, Leah Crawford, The McEwen Girls: Tammy Ava and Olivia.

Society Approves with 95 % vote May 4, 2014.

It was great to see the level of support for going forward with Project Caleb this past Sunday.  104 our of 109 votes cast were "YES" for an increased budget.  So let the digging begin!

Plans now are to meet the final conditions of our contract with the Builder and to begin to build as soon as permits are made available.  All going well we anticipate this being the week of May 19.  PTL.

Thanks to all who expressed their support either as a member or as an adherent at Trulls.  You can still send us in an Expression of Support form found below on the April 29 post.  It simply is away to communicate if you missed the meeting on Sunday.

We also announced that over $145,000 new funds were pledged over the last two weeks or so towards making up the gap for the increased project budget.  If you haven't yet pledged by all means we would love to receive a pledge in the near future.  Pledge forms available from the Church Office or on the April 29 post as well.

Below is a fun little DIY video for our Project Caleb Banks.  Take a look and be sure to plan on bringing in your Bank on May 25th.

That is also our planned Ground Breaking Celebration Day.  All the action begins shortly after the service that day around 11:30 a.m. More details to follow.

Congregational Information Meeting - April 27 & April 30

The following presentation was given April 27 and will be give April 30 at 7 PM at the church.  It updates Project Caleb plans and provides a plan of action.

The Official Board is asking the membership to vote to increase the project budget and has provided a good summary of where the additional funding might come from.  The vote to approve this increase in the budget which then allows us to move forward is planned for May 4 at 11:15 a.m. after the Sunday morning service.

If you are not able to attend then you can use the Expression of Support form below to indicate your support for or against this increase.  Please feel free to drop off this form at the Church Office or send it along as an email version.

If you have not pledged to date and would like to, now would be a great time to join the journey to the Promise Land.

A pledge form is also attached for you to use.  It provides a place for you to begin with a pledge in 2014 and carry it through until 2017.  Or if you are currently pledging there is a place there for you to add an additional year of donations in 2017 via a pledge as well.

Feel free to be in touch if you have further questions.

It's quite possible that we will see a shovel in the ground by mid May.  God has been so good to us here at Trulls - that's why we are preparing for victory!  Thanks be to God!
